Detailed description
Includes:
- VALOI studio360 35mm Panoramic Holder
- 4x anti-slip sticky rubber feet (for use without the Advancer)
With an opening of 86x33mm, the holder is Intended for panoramic images wider than the standard full frame format, up to a width of 86mm (standard maximum width of 6x9 cameras). Most of the sprocket/rebate area is also visible.
This product is meant for scanning wider-than-normal frames. For the best quality when scanning normal full-frame images, we recommend you buy the standard VALOI studio360 35mm Film Holder.
The VALOI studio360 35mm Panoramic Holder is:
- Designed for maximal flatness with the special double S-curved track
- Prevents reflections: Matte black plastic and strategic anti-reflection angles
- Quick-advance system: Push or pull film through, no fiddling with traditional clam-shell designs
- Minimizes vignetting on the edges with a beveled design under the film
- Comes with stick-on rubber feet for stability
- Can be used with or with out the VALOI Advancer
- Optimized for full rolls - it will work with cut strips but flatness may vary
The Holder can be used to hold film on its own or in conjunction with the VALOI Advancer.
Note that appearance of the final product will change from the picture in this listing.
VALOI Custom Series Holders
Our custom series holders are made on request from the community in small volume and small batches. We decided to make these to support niche formats that are otherwise difficult to scan.
While our normal holders are injection molded - a high volume process for creating quality plastic parts - our Custom Series holders are too low volume for this process. Therefore, we turned to community member and 3D printing master Simon Forster in the UK to help us get the best holders possible. These are not your average home 3D printed parts, but highly optimized prints from finely tuned high-end printers.
To retain the good quality and film flatness of our normal holders, the Custom Series holders are made to such tolerance that most home-printers would struggle to get a useable product. This applies particularly to the film track, which we have kept as tight as possible just like our normal holders.
/
We recommend using thin cotton gloves while scanning to prevent damage to the film.
Additional accessories are necessary to produce a final image, including a digital camera, a close-focusing lens and a light source. See our gear-guide for more at valoi.co.

Choose the holder that matches your film format. For 35mm film, use the 35mm holder, or the 35mm Sprocket holder if you want to include the sprocket holes. For medium format, the 6x9 holder accepts all frame sizes from 6x4.5 to 6x9, but we recommend the holder that matches your frame size. Each kit’s "In the box" list shows which holders are included.
